Star Wars: Destiny Manifested

Beyond the Rim Episode 1
The Tale of the Sa Nalaor

Dear This Diary,

It has been a long time since this Gands last entry because of the hectic lifestyle of a findsmen. Most recently the Crew of the Noculent, has been contacted about work to find “lost treasures.” The twi’lek contact has directed the Crew of the Noculent to the Planet of the Nexu where the Ship of Lost Treasures is believed to have crashed. It is the job of the Crew of the Noculent to find the Ship of Lost Treasures and recover what the Crew of the Noculent can.

More importantly the Crew of the Noculant are traveling to the Planet of the Nexu. The nexu should be a grand prize that should compensate for the loss of the gundark because of the interference of the Empire during the Gundark Hunt. However this Gand worries because the Mists of Gand has shown this Gand that other Gand Findsmen may be on the Planet of the Nexu. The Planet of the Nexu should provide a challenging hunt, but with the addition of other Gand Findsmen it should make it interesting.

Besides the challenge of the other Gand Findsmen we have a new Pilot. He claims to be a “pilot”, even though this Gand has been more than capable in flying the Noculent. The New Pilot has also shown disrespect to the Mists of Gand, which have guided this Gand and the Crew of the Noculent for so long. The Mists of Gand will judge him in the end. If the New Pilot is worthy than it will reviled by the Mists of Gand.

Also this Gand’s new sniper rifle has proven to be effective, even though the Mechanic still has trouble installing modifications (I believe the Mechanic has betrayed this Gand with his new “friend” the New Pilot). A group of Rodian Hooligans attempted to steal a droid with the location of the ship of lost treasures. This Gand and the Bounty Hunter managed to make short work of the Rodian Hooligans. The Rodian Hooligans may attempt to interfere again, but this Gand doubts that the Rodian Hooligans will be much more than a nuisance.

XOXOXOXOXO
This Gand

Welcome to the Jungle

This entire group can send themselves Coreward for all I care. How did I even get… no, not worth going down that path. I know exactly how I got here. The question is: what do I do now? I ‘m here on this jungle of a planet and we’re hunting… something. An old ship, or maybe the beasts on this planet. I honestly couldn’t care less.

I feel like I’ve been drifting ever since I left the Empire. And for someone that prides themselves on their ability to move in the direction they want to, drifting’s a bad thing. Very bad. I want to lash out at something. I want to get in something other than this rusted bucket of a transport and vape someone or something. I just want… direction.

I guess I’ve never had to find that for myself before. In the Academy, I knew where I was going: up. Faster and better than all the rest, that was me. Now? I’m a juddery holovid of my former self.

I need to pick a direction. I need to stabilize things and start flying.

I need to stop using flying metaphors all the time.

So next time this group goes haring off on their own, there’s no way I’m going to rot on the ship, no matter how ridiculous I think they are. They’re me crew now, one way or another.

Welcome to the Jungle (cont.)

I found this while performing a routine diagnosis of B-Mo’s memory banks. It looks like he’s writing a screenplay of our adventures…

FADE IN:

EXT. JUNGLES OF CHOLGANNADAWNESTABLISHING

A valley cuts through the vast expanse of jungle canopy. The rising sun reflects off a large lake. Partially submerged is the remains of the Sa Nalaor, it hull obviously stripped of parts making it difficult to tell the extent of damage it sustained during the crash. The Noculent (YT-2400 series ship) sits in a clearing, close to the banks of the lake.

INT. THE NOCULENTCOCKPIT

A neatly groomed human, LAN GREYSON, sits in the pilot’s seat checking system sensors and scanner readings. Noticing a scuff on one of the screens, he quickly polishes it with the cuff of his shirt.

INT. THE NOCULENT – GAND’S QUARTERS

A jar of swirling gases sits on a shelf next to the bed. A slightly disheveled gand, GAND, peers intently into the jar, seemingly oblivious to all else around him.

INT. THE NOCULENTLOUNGE

Weapons are sprawled out on the table in various stages of assembly. A shoddily armored human, VERK MESQEN, cleans and reassembles his small armory. Off to the side a black R2 droid, R2-Q5, takes inventory of an oddly large supply of water. A display reveals his true activity when it displays an outline of his plans to destroy someone named Sum Randeux and start a robot mafia.

INT. THE NOCULENT – TRAN’S QUARTERS

The room is in disarray. A small package can be seen protruding from under the bed, the letters “NIP” are visible on one side. A sleeping bothan, TRAN TEREEZ’SKRA, stirs as an alarm clock starts to ring. Tran sits up and fires his blaster at the alarm clock and falls back into slumber. The alarm clock clatters to the floor onto a pile of similarly destroyed alarm clocks.

INT. THE NOCULENTMAIN ENGINEERING

Droid parts litter the floor. A tall, dark, and stunningly handsome human, JURIS VARGA, stands over a half assembled droid, tools in hand. Leaning against the doorway is a top-of-the-line battle droid, B-MO.

Juris pulls his hand back in quickly as sparks fly from the half assembled droid.

JURIS
Those nexu sure did a number on this old droid.

B-MO
Yeah, but we did quite a number on those nexu. (pause) I still don’t know why you decided to fix that old thing anyway.

JURIS
I felt bad for it. And I didn’t want to get rusty. It’s not like I can make you any better.

B-MO
You’ve got that right. You really perfected the craft when you made me.

The sound of a ship approaching interrupts the conversation. A console on the wall lights up and Lan’s voice is heard on the intercom.

LAN
(through the intercom) Hey Juris, another ship just showed up on the scanners.

JURIS
Yeah, we heard it approach. Do you have a visual?

LAN
(through the intercom) Looks like it’s landing nearby. How do you want to proceed?

JURIS
Let’s see what they want. Gand, take Verk and Tran and see if we can’t accommodate our new guests.

B-MO
Are you sure that’s a good idea. Those three aren’t really the diplomatic type.

JURIS
They’ll be fine. We can’t do everything on this ship. And if something goes wrong, we can go save the day.

B-MO
Like we always do.

JURIS
Like we always do.

EXT. THE NOCULENTBOARDING RAMPMINUTES LATER

Gand, Verk, and Tran walk down the boarding ramp, weapons holstered but at the ready. From across the clearing, 3 rodians and 2 trandoshans make their way to the Noculent. The lead rodian, YAV YIYAR, has scars slashed across his face. They stop about half-way between the two ships and take up position behind the few rocks and trees in the clearing.

YAV
Give us the IT droid and we’ll let you leave unharmed. We have you out gunned and outnumbered.

GAND
This Gand does not agree with that rodian’s claims.

VERK
Why should we listen to a bunch of ugly rodians anyway?

TRAN
Perhaps you’d better just get back on your ship and leave.

YAV

You are all fools. (to his companions) Kill them.

Blaster fire erupts from both sides. Tran and Verk dive for cover. Gand retreats to the top of the ramp and gets into a sniping position. Yav returns to his ship.

INT. THE NOCULENTMAIN ENGINEERING

Juris and B-Mo are watching the fire fight on a monitor.

B-MO
Well, that escalated quickly. I knew we should have handled it.

JURIS
They did better than usual. At least they let them talk before just shooting them this time.

LAN
(through the intercom) Juris! They’re powering up their ship’s weapons!

GAND
(through the intercom) Those trandoshans have flanked that bothan and that human. That
human has taken a hit.

JURIS
Lan, get on the turret and return fire. Gand, hold on, we’re on our way.

B-MO
R2, hack their ship. See if you can’t do something about their shields.

R2-Q5
(through the intercom) Beep boop

EXT. THE NOCULENTBOARDING RAMP

B-Mo and Juris come running down the ramp, firing their blasters at the enemy. They regroup with Verk and Tran under the ramp. Verk is wounded. Turret fire strikes the shielding of the Noculent causing blue waves of energy to ripple and the return fire does the same to the enemy ship.

JURIS
How are you holding up Verk?

VERK
I’ve had worse. (cringes)

JURIS
Don’t worry, we’ll get us out of this

B-MO
Juris, R2 just informed me that he almost has the shields down.

JURIS
Excellent. Gand, I noticed some faulty conduits on the other ship leading to their turret. Do you see what I’m talking about?

GAND
This gand sees it.

JURIS
On my mark, take the shot. B-Mo and I will handle the rest.

GAND
This gand will comply.

JURIS
You ready for this B-Mo?

B-MO
Always. Let’s do this.

B-Mo and Juris nod at each other and fist bump. A “beep boop” is heard over the coms and the shields over the enemy ship shimmer and go down.

JURIS
NOW!

B-Mo and Juris jump out from opposite sides of the boarding ramp. Gand fires his sniper rifle, hitting the conduit, causing the enemy turret to power down. Juris and B-Mo stand back to back and systematically take out each of the enemies on the battlefield. Yav and his remaining crew power up the ship and fly away. Everyone but Lan, who returns to the cockpit gathers at the boarding ramp.

TRAN
You two are amazing!

VERK
I don’t know what we would do if you two weren’t with us.

LAN
(through the intercom) Hey, guys we’ve got more company. Looks like some humanoids riding giant lizard things.

B-MO
No rest for the weary.

JURIS
Why don’t you knuckleheads let us talk this time. We can’t solve everything with violence.

R2-Q5
Beep boop

Everyone laughs at R2’s smart ass remark.

-Juris Varga

Beyond the Rim Episode 3 Part 1
Toxic Motherlode

I can’t remember the last time I found myself at the helm of a turret, but I knew that I was in for a treat. As our “pilot” slowly shifted us in and out of poor positions, I knew that every shot I took had to be a good one. With a quick pull of the trigger and a slight smirk on my face I hosed down at least twenty tie fighters. Creating a safe passage for us to get to the junk planet. As we crash landed at our destination. I knew that I would be doing the talking. I kept the doctor and the old military guy calm. Simply by loosing my rifle from its shoulder harness. We met up with the Rodian and he was easy to win over. I knew I had exactly what he wanted, and he was very pleased.

As the doctor rambled on about boring robots, I saw an opportunity to snag some great ship parts from the Rodian’s scrap yard. The old kook didn’t know it but he was sitting on a gold mine. I gathered the scattered crew and we began searching for upgrades to our ship. As we were searching I could feel tiny little eyes watching our movement. I gave the area an ocular pat down and proceeded to not tell anyone of the impending danger. I didn’t want to scare the bunch as they weren’t exactly “combat ready”. Once the Jawa’s revealed themselves I quickly intervened. The shear sight of me kept them from killing us on the spot. Heck I was even able to snag a great trade with them. Once they calmed down of course. We gave them an old crusty glove for some great ship parts. At this point the crew moral was up and I was feeling pretty good.

Then my bounty hunter senses tingled and I saw it. A T400 Mega-Death Sky Bot. I hadn’t seen one in years, in fact I thought they have been discontinued since they were so effective at killing. I watched three of our six person crew wet themselves on the spot and knew that I had to act quickly. I pulled out my last frag grenade, kissed it as I pulled the pin (like always), and tossed that bad boy right into the T400’s weak spot. Or maybe that’s why they were discontinued…

Beyond the Rim Episode 3 Part 2
It's not over yet!

Sometime after the chaos the crew of the noculent rests. Gand sits in cockpit of Gand and is in a deep meditation. He is startled awake by the sound of an incoming Holo Message. Gand switches on the communicater and an image of Gand appears.

Gand: Ah Gand, it has been too long.
Gand: Greetings Gand, I have received your messages that you have found a Gand that needs to be returned home.
Gand: Yes Gand, Gand and his ship Gand were lost in a jungle world. Luckily Gand and the Crew of the Noculent arrived in time to save him.
Gand: I see, but it looks like Gand is the one that needs saving. Where did Gand get those blaster wounds?
Gand: Gand thought that he could trust a particular individual, but humans are fickle friends. Would Gand have time to talk and hear Gand’s story?
Gand: Considering the time since Gand and Gand have talked it would be welcomed.
Gand: To begin, while resting after a long mission the crew of the Noculent met with mercenaries disguised as traders.
Gand: Gand assumes the mercenaries did not want to trade.
Gand: The only thing traded were baster bolts, but the mists where with the crew of the Noculent and the crew was able to easily dispatch the mercenaries.
Gand: That is fortunate for Gand.
Gand: Yes Gand, but at the same time the Mechanic had trapped himself in the Noculent and was under attack by yet more Mercenaries.
Gand: The Mechanic must either be brave or incompetent.
Gand: Yes, but luckly the Pilot had captured an airspeeder and we quickly made our way to save him.
Gand: Did the mechanic survive.
Gand: Yes, the Pilot and Gand were able to quickly dispatch his attackers, but the Mechanic in a panic shot Gand.
Gand: Was Gand wounded badly?
Gand: No, Gand was able to shrug off the attack and save the Mechanic. Afterwards Gand made sure to check on Gand and Gand to make sure that neither were damaged. Next the crew of the Noculent made their way deeper into the complex to help the crew of the Noculents employer.
Gand: As any good Gand team would do.
Gand: Exactly, these aliens have adapted well. Moving through the complex we encountered many more Mercenaries and dispatched of them all easily. One group in particular was a group of trandosen mercenaries that sought to blow up a group of scientists and medical droids.
Gand: Now Gand is just showing off.
Gand: Apologies Gand, Gand had gotten caught up in the movement, but to finish the story Gand and the Crew of the Noculent were able to save their employers along with others like Gand.
Gand: Well it is good to know Gand is well and awaits to hear of the return of Gand.

Imperial Interruption

Not quite the way I expected things to end, but I’ve got no complaints. Stacks of credits, the Imperials chasing their own tails, and a route set to Corellia. Not bad.

When we landed on the junk planet, I’d not expected we’d survive. Especially after the Rodians attacked. But our man was as good as his word and paid us handsomely. And when the Imperials attacked, we were all in. Everyone helped out, even the mechanic. Was actually worth losing the glove. We cleared guns, got targeting systems back online, and were able to make a break for it.

Even got a bit of a firefight once we broke atmo. Very nice. Nothing like flying in space to let you know who’s who. And I’ve got to admit, it felt good to test myself against the Imperials again. Not the same as being in a fighter, but it’ll do. I’ve always preferred flying to shooting anyway.

And now, Corellia, I suppose. I didn’t catch exactly why we’re going, but that’s alright by me. We’re rich, and I guess after all we’ve been through, I’m starting to consider these people my friends. Not a bad thing at all.

Child's Play

Maki Chandra: Good evening, I’m Maki Chandra…

Del Anin: And I’m Del Anin. This is Landru City Nightly News.

MC: Tonight’s top story… Teenage Massacre in Loading Bay 283! Six are dead after a firefight broke out earlier today in the warehouse district of Landru City. Five of deceased were only 18 years or younger. The entire confrontation was captured on one of the warehouse’s security cameras.

DA: I must warn you, the footage you are about to see is both graphic and violent. Viewer discretion is advised.

on the screen

A human looks away from the cargo being loaded and walks toward the edge of the screen blaster drawn. The camera angle changes to show 7 figures dive for cover as blaster fire streams toward them from off screen. The camera changes again. A gand raises his rifle and takes a shot, followed by a bothan and an armored figure raising their weapons and firing. The camera changes to a wider angle that shows the entire warehouse, just as one of the figures stands up from behind cover only to be shot in the chest. Blaster fire destroys the little cover there is and another of the figure’s shoulder explodes in a bloody mess as it’s hit by a slug-thrower. Another figure that looks like a twilek is pelted with more energy bolts and falls limp to the ground. The tallest figure makes a run for one of the cargo speeders and jumps into the driver’s seat. The remaining three figures return fire and make their way to the second cargo speeder trying to stay in cover. The taller figure starts to drive away but an energy bolt hits one of the front repulsors and the front of the speeder falls to the ground and sends the driver spilling out on to the ground. As he tries to stand, the armored figure raises his slug-thrower, and the tall figures head snaps back, gushing blood out the back of its head. The remaining three take off in the cargo speeder amid a shower of blaster fire. A human quickly runs after the speeder and manages to jump on the back of it, firing at the driver and passengers all the while. The driver is hit in the back of the head and slumps forward. As the speeder slows to a stop, one of the passengers is also shot and the remaining one takes off running, narrowly escaping being shot in the back. The aggressors run after in pursuit and the feed ends.

MC: We take you live to Jianna Tavers who is speaking to Theal Hedint, the father of one of the victims. Jianna?

Jianna Tavers: Mr Hedint, can you tell us about what happened today?

Theal Hedint is clearly in shock

Theal Hedint: Five… A group of five came to my door… The big one in armor… He had my Larna…

JT: Larna is your daughter?

TH: They came in and set her down on the table… my little girl… They kept asking me questions about her… said she had been shot… wanted to know about the youth program that she was involved with…

JT: The one run by Denal Kralsh?

TH: THEY KILLED MY LITTLE GIRL AND JUST GAVE ME A CREDIT CHIP FOR MY TROUBLE!!! I WANT THEM ALL DEAD!!!

Theal Hedint breaks down into angry sobs

JT: Mr. Hedint, we are truly sorry for your loss. Maki… Del… back to you.

static

Juris looks up from his data pad. From his hiding place he can see Verk and the others casing the monastery that serves as Denal Kralsh’s “youth program.” He looks up at B-M0, “Well… This could be trouble…”

The Adventures of TEAM COMPUTER

It was dark, dangerous, and smelly. The perfect scenario for me to utilize my ninja abilities and navigate this hell hole quietly. My crew was following behind. Something was different though about them this time. It’s like they actually knew what they were doing now.

We found the medical corridor and I saw the doctor immediately. I knew she wouldn’t be a problem. After doing a quick ocular pat down of the rest of the corridor I noticed the two enemy guards sitting inside the guard bay. I knew we had to eliminate them quickly. I slipped around the side and had the “pilot” grab the doctor. Once he had her secured, I knew the guards would be suspicious and come out to take a look. They both emerged from their post simultaneously and my instincts kicked in. I grabbed my vibro knife and hurled it into the first guards chest. Before the other guard could act I had my hands around his neck, “nighty, night” I said as I snapped it like a twig. The pilot managed to keep the doctor under control and after the real work was done the nerds began to bicker. I didn’t want to get mixed up in the technical mumbo jumbo so I sat by and waited until they had reached an agreement. We decided to split up into two teams. I was on the assault squad and the other team was doing something else.

I guided the assault squad around making sure we wouldn’t get jumped. Unfortunately the other team wasn’t as sneaky. They alerted several guards on the way to do whatever it was they were doing. We caught the reinforcements with several bullets and made quick work of them. After that we headed up stairs to find out who was running this shit show. Once we got upstairs I could easily see that there were guards posted in both side corridors. I go big or go home and barged straight to the main door at the end of the hall. Took my boot and put it into the door swiftly swinging it open. There was a big dumb looking one standing right in the middle of the room. The tiny weird one and I put several rounds into him forcing him to retreat. I could hear the other two guard squads coming from behind us. I swung around and laid waste to several of them before ducking into cover. The other team had finally made it up to us at this point and helped to dispatch the remaining guards. Unfortunately the big one got away but we got his scent now.

Like I said before, this mission felt different with the crew. They weren’t as bad as they normally are, something has changed. Either they are getting better or I’m getting softer, but damnit I’m proud of them.

Danger Zone
I'm gonna take you, right into the...

As I see the Mechanic Juris pursue the Gand and Smuggler, I figure no better time then to feed my addiction.

Sniiiiffff

Feeling more focused and energetic now. I haven’t been the same since I lost control of my life, feeling like a puppet, carrying out actions against my will. Either way it felt good to keep my mind off such things with any good “Nip” I could come across. Best part of it was that I sometimes hallucinated doves during blaster fights. I thought it was odd at first but began to love it.

As we come around the corner we find both the Gand and Smuggler both lying on the ground. We can see the Smuggler still breathing but we weren’t sure how to tell if the Gand was alive or not. Choosing to Stim we did discover he wasn’t dead….but slightly aroused…

We step back and discover that they were caught in a trap that triggered. The R2 unit scans for other traps and similar traps are up ahead. We have to yell at the gungho mechanic to stop before he triggers it. After the traps disabled we continue down this long winding hallway and eventually end up at a sealed door. R2 does his work unlocks the door. We slowly open the door and its pitch black, except for the light coming out from the door on the other side of the room.

As blaster firing starts coming we spot a speeder take off towards an opening hanger door. To stay in pursuit of the target, or be douches I’m not sure, but the Mechanic and Lan jump on a speeder and take off after him. Didn’t really bother me too much since it was just 4 guys for me and R2 to take care of. We exchange fire and we’re both taking hits. R2 drops and as he does 2 of the 4 guys take off on a land speeder out the door. I slide behind R2 and pep myself up. sniiifff lucky for me I keep a stash in a compartment attached to my scope….doves appear and the guys are down. Must of been me that did it.

The Mechanic and Lan come back with 2 speeders and with Krawlus. They began to explain what happened but their voices were all warped. An obvious effect of whatever I had in my scope…I couldn’t even remember anymore.

We discover that Baron Kaldo was putting up funds and for deliveries to Centerpoint. The smuggler doesn’t know more then that. We cut him loose in good faith…he seemed geniune. Krawlus was next on our agenda. The bastard tries to commit suicide with some poison he had stashed in a fake tooth…he wasn’t very helpful. So we ended up just tossing him into “Lightning Alley” and activating the traps, so he was stuck there. We started to hear some people talking so we just jumped on those speeders and took off…Thank god cause I need to call my dealer now that we got some more coin coming our way
